Introduction to Rental Costs & Fees:
It is our goal to ensure clarity to all rental costs. Nobody likes surprises, and neither do we. Our rental structure allows for easy cost assessment for most rental situations. It is our goal to provide you with a smooth and affordable rental duration, with the most upfront clarity to all costs involved with the rental process. Provided you return the equipment in an undamaged, clean and complete state, you should not expect to be charged any additional fees.
In the less likely event that the equipment is returned in less than optimal, damaged or complete condition, you may be charged an additional service fee. See below for standard rates, and descriptions as to these additional, and less likely, potential fees. Regarding damage specifically, you will only be charged a damage repair/replacement fee if you DID NOT purchase the optional Damage Insurance.
Standard Rental Fees:
What is a Standard Rental Fee? In short, this is the amount you’ve already paid-in advance to secure your rental, minus the cost of the Rental Deposit (explained below). This Standard Rental Fee includes such variables as: The model you selected, optional Liability or Damage insurance, optional extras such as additional batteries or other accessories. In most cases, this is the amount you should expect to pay, when renting a unit, provided none of the additional potential fees, explained below, are relevant to your rental duration & return.

Rental Deposit:
What is a Rental Deposit? A Rental Deposit is a one-time fee that secures your rental. Additionally, it allows for a minor monetary reserve for small additional fees, which may or not be applicable, depending on the return time, condition and other variables. Typically, and provided your rental is returned on-time, complete, clean and undamaged, the Rental Deposit fee is refunded in full. In the less likely event that your items are returned incomplete, unclean, or damaged, the Rental Deposit provides a minor reserve for applying these potential fees. Any applicable fees are deducted from the Rental Deposit. What remains after any applied fees, will be returned in the form of a Rental Deposit Credit. If the primary rental equipment is damaged, but you opted for the optional Damage Insurance, you will not be charged any fee for the damage repair or replacement of the primary rental equipment. Damage Insurance does not cover incidental or consumable items such as, but not limited to: Propellers, batteries, cords, or other such minor accessories. If a more severe situation is applicable, such as lost or stolen equipment, then the Rental Deposit may not be returned and you will be charged an additional fee for the remaining costs associated with that claim.

Late Fees:
If you fail to return the equipment on-time, you will be charged a Late Fee. How to determine what is On-Time or Late? The rental duration is very simple. The timer starts the moment you receive the equipment. This time is noted by either the confirmed delivery, via the shipment tracking delivery notification OR by the time noted when you exit the local store with the rental unit. If your rental is returned late, you will be charged an additional rental day, pro-rated, for each day the rental is returned late.
- Late Fee: $Cost varies by rental selection. Pro-Rated, 1-Day rental rate, per day, for the duration the equipment is late. “Late” is considered any time past the Return-By date & time.
Damaged Equipment:
If your rental equipment is damaged during the duration of your rental, please contact us as soon as possible. If you’ve paid for the optional Damage Insurance, you are not liable for the associated costs to either repair or replace the damaged equipment*. Please note that damaged equipment* does not include consumable or accessory items such as, but not limited to: Propellers, batteries, cases, cords, or other such minor accessories. If those items are damaged, the associated cost is deducted from your Rental Deposit fee. If the primary rental equipment is damaged and you DID NOT purchase the optional damage insurance, you are liable for all costs associated with the repair or replacement of the equipment. This cost is deducted from your Rental Deposit. If the repair or replacement cost exceeds the Rental Deposit, you will be billed for the difference.

Shipping costs:

The shipping cost required to ship the rental to you, will be automatically calculated at the website’s online store cart, during the checkout process. You can choose from basic free shipping (applicable to any rental $99 and up), or you can choose from available expedited shipping services, such as Next-Day Air.
- Shipping costs – Rental to you: $Cost varies with package size, weight, dimensions, and shipping selection. We cover the insurance cost for the outgoing shipment.
Back to us:
You are responsible for arranging any necessary shipping arrangements and associated costs to return the equipment to us by the dedicated return time. Please note that your return time “ends” when the return shipment is scanned into the local shipping hub (scan-in required, printing/creating a label is not a sufficient proof of a timely return). It is highly advised to apply sufficient insurance to the return package, sufficient to cover the value of the included items, in order to prevent a loss in the event if the package or contents were damaged, lost or stolen while in transit.
- Shipping costs – Rental back to us: $Cost varies with package size, weight, dimensions, insurance and shipping selection. You cover the insurance cost for the outgoing shipment.
Missing, Lost or Stolen Equipment:
You are responsible for a safe and timely return of the designated rental equipment. If the rental equipment is presumed missing, lost or stolen, you will be responsible for the applicable replacement cost of the associated items. You will be billed for the amount due to replace the items. The amount due will be deducted from the Rental Deposit, and any remaining balance due, will be due immediately at the end of your rental period (return OR designated return date/time). Optional Damage Insurance DOES NOT cover missing, lost or stolen items. Lastly, MADS does not condone fraudulent use of the rental services. Suspected fraudulent use of the rental service will be prosecuted to the fullest extent permitted by law, in your region, if necessary to recover the associated costs to replace the missing, lost or stolen equipment and/or associated value of the associated equipment.
Cleaning Fee:
Please return the items in clean condition. If the items are returned in unclean condition, such as excessive dirt, grime, sand, hair or other similar unclean condition, we will charge an additional cleaning fee. This fee is deducted from your Rental Deposit. If the equipment is returned in similar condition as you accepted it, no Cleaning Fee is assessed.
- Cleaning Fee: $15.00
Failure to Pay:
You are responsible for paying the complete balance due of the designated rental equipment AND potential additional fees (only if applicable). You will be billed for any additional amount due to cover incidental additional fees, if applicable. The amount due will be deducted from the Rental Deposit, and any remaining balance due, will be due immediately at the end of your rental period (return OR designated return date/time). Failure to pay, after repeated attempts to contact you to settle a balance, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent permitted by law, in your region, if necessary to recover the associated costs with recovering the balance due.
